About me

I am a political economist with expertise in economic development, central banking, and Georgia’s financial history. I have a Phd in social and economic sciences from the University of Kassel.

In the last five years I did research at the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History, Potsdam (ZZF), in the network Legacies of Communism. I was also a visiting scholar at Harvard University, Trinity College, Sciences Po, and the University of Vienna.

I am currently an associate professor at the Georgian Institute for Public Affairs (GIPA) and a CERGE-EI Foundation teaching fellow. I am also a researcher at the Institute for Social and Cultural Research, Ilia State University (Georgia).

My book Unravelling Dollarization Persistence: the case of Georgia was published by Routledge in 2023.
